		<description>Just a quick note - Macs have supported 255 character filenames since the first release of OSX almost 10 years ago now, and had behind the scenes support in OS9 even earlier. 31 characters is as irrelevant today as is DOS 8.3 names.  However, keeping things shorter than the limits is always a good idea - many Windows apps still don&#039;t handle long filenames, for instance.
